H from Massachussetts was very impressed

"We arrived at the hotel after midnight after a long, exhausting trip from Manaus. When we walked into our room, I was blown away – it was colorful and modern and truly everything I could've wished for. What a delightful way to start our visit to Salvador. Although we only had three days to spend in Salvador, we did end up spending quite a lot of time at the hotel pool because it was so beautiful, overlooking a rocky beach. It was spectacular, and you get a similar view from the hotel restaurant. The breakfast was amazing. Make sure to sample all the fresh fruits they serve at the Vila Gale because they had fruits I hadn’t seen in other places. The hotel staff was really adamant that we not wander around the area and they kept insisting we take taxis every time we exited the hotel. They also warned us not to go down to the beach, although there is a walkway from the pool area that leads to the beach. While in Salvador, try to go to the Sal e Brasa restaurant. It was about a 30-minute taxi ride away, but the place was really impressive. We thought it was going to be a typical all-you-can-eat churrascaria, but they served so much more than just meats and salads. They had lobster, caviar, typical dishes from Bahia. It was truly amazing."
