This is 50 miles to the south of Fortaleza. It is the as the name suggests a palm fringed area with lakes and pools alongside the famous cliff springs that give the beach its name.

There is a small shaped swimming pool, surrounded by palm trees and a boating lake, where you can sail a jangada. There is a fine empty beach here that runs for miles between the cliffs and the shore. It is a good place to hire boats or arrange water-ski trips.

It is offered only as an all-inclusive hotel with all meals and drinks included in the price of the holiday. The litle village is really part of the hotel scene and thee are few bars or restaurants in the vicinity . The hotel has the a la carte Iracema and the buffet Caravelas by the lake. You can watch the sun set with a caipirinha or suco de frutas as jangadas sail around the lake. It also has conference facilities for 60 to 600 people.

The following prices are for two people sharing, including flights from Lisbon and transfers. Prices are for bed and breakfast on a per person basis. Premium class seats are vailable on the flights.

"Since we were honeymooners they upgraded our room to a suite. So it was very large and the bathroom was also very spacious. They only had showers and no bathtub. Apart from that it is a nice resort, not luxurious, but simple, clean and you have plenty of space to move around. You could see a big lagoon in the pictures but it is not swimmable. "
