Rocky
cliffs fringe the beach

The beach at Praia das Fontes is one of the finest in the world. Just 50 miles south of Fortaleza and much closer than that to the airport, it is an increasingly popular resort. The huge brown and white cliffs which are such a feature of the landscape harbour natural springs of fresh, cool, drinking water.
It is only three miles from the traditional fishing village of Morro Branco where the jangadeiros still sail their small flat bottomed craft out to sea to catch fish. Behind it lies the beautiful lake of Uruau, where fishing and snorkelling are safer and easier than in the sea.,
Popular pursuits here are riding down the long beach on a buggy or possibly a horse and using the locally reliable winds to kitesurf or fly in ultralights.
The Oasis Hotel offers an all inclusive regime, since there are fewer restaurants in this essentially beach village community.
